Traditional cuisine is one of the elements of the culture of each ethnic community, which contains both the material component of the people and spiritual values. The work touches on the composition and features of the traditional cuisine of the Yakuts, which are determined by historical events, their everyday and religious worldview, the conditions of the area they live: geographical and climatic, economic activities. The study of Yakut cuisine in the literature took place earlier only by the description of the dish and their constructive feature: the composition of the dishes and their recipes. The study gives a new look at the classification of traditional Yakut cuisine. The traditional food of the Yakuts, in addition to the constructive type, can be classified according to their functional purpose.
