The article presents the results of a computational experiment on predicting the structure and properties of thermosetting foams for light enclosing structures. The main idea of the work is to use the characteristic heterogeneity of the physical and mechanical properties of foam plastics in the foaming height to increase the operational efficiency of materials in layered structures in terms of thermal stability. In choosing the design scheme of the computational experiment, we used the well-known effect of increasing the heat stability of multilayer structures when combining various insulation materials. It is established that the maximum heat stability (V = 63.5) of a single-layer thermal insulation made of foam foam is achieved under the condition that the distribution of physical and mechanical (density and thermal conductivity coefficient) characteristics over the foaming height has a parabolic dependence. In practice, such a structure of foamed foam can not be obtained. This structure of the thermal insulation layer can only be obtained by gluing two foam boards made in a closed metal form. The most real structure of the thermal insulation layer (the inhomogeneity of the structure is given as a parabola with a lower extremum) is characterized by a sufficiently high thermal stability (V = 52.8). As the results of the computational experiment show, the optimal choice of the structure and properties of the thermal insulation layer made of foam plastics can increase the heat resistance of light enclosing structures by 47-75?%.
