Цель исследования - выявление культурных кодов в английских и русских загадках об объектах и явлениях природы. В статье рассматриваются лексические единицы, метафорически описывающие денотат загадки. Научная новизна исследования заключается в том, что в данной работе сопоставляются культурные коды, описывающие окружающий мир и репрезентирующие специфику английской и русской лингвокультур. Результаты исследования демонстрируют, что в русских и английских загадках функционируют как схожие средства метафорического кодирования, так и культурно-детерминированные коды, репрезентирующие специфику восприятия и описания природных явлений представителями изучаемых лингвокультур.
The aim of the study is to identify the cultural codes in the English and Russian riddles about natural phenomena and objects. The article deals with the lexical units that metaphorically describe the denotation of the riddle. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that this work compares the cultural codes that describe the world around and represent the specifics of the English and Russian linguocultures. The results of the study demonstrate that in the Russian and English riddles, both similar means of metaphorical coding and culturally determined codes that represent the specifics of the perception and description of natural phenomena by representatives of the studied linguocultures function.
