Объективной социальной необходимостью изучения роли и значимости пожилого населения страны для социально-экономического развития современного российского общества, социального благосостояния этой категории граждан с точки зрения социальной адаптации уверенности в государственной системе в современном российском обществе.
The life satisfaction in the elder age depends on many factors of existential character: meaningful life, acceptance of one’s life path, keeping the professional identity, plans for the future and active involvement in certain activities, for instance, upbringing the grandchildren, gardening, or community service. There is a lack of doctor specialising in the health issues of the older age. There is a need for development of the program for geriatric doctors and gerontologists. At the moment we do not have any. Besides, there is a need for a network of geriatric centres. We conducted a research among the elder persons in the Yakutsk Elder Care Home.
