This article explores the figure of the woman warrior, characteristic of the Yakut heroic epic tradition, together with the recurrent narrative motifs associated with it. Adopting a historical-poetic approach, the study focuses on the first published plot of Yakut epic devoted to this theme – Kylaannakh Kyys Bukhatyyr (“The Chosen Maiden-Warrior”), retold by Vladimir L. Priklonsky in 1891 – and analyzes it within its broader folkloric and mythological context. The article also advances hypotheses concerning the origins of this figure, its symbolic significance, and its relationship to mythological tradition.
