Today, the leadership of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is carrying out consistent and systematic work to ensure the sustainable development of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North. Undoubtedly, this work is carried out with the active participation of civil society institutions (these are non-profit organizations - public associations, associations and unions, indigenous small-numbered communities, Cossack societies, social, charitable and other funds) that actively protect the interests and rights of indigenous minorities of the North. The special legal status of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the Russian Federation is caused, first of all, by the fact that such peoples, in addition to being small, live in extreme climatic conditions that have a negative impact on the human body. The labor activity of these peoples in traditional and practically unique areas of economic management is significantly and constantly hampered by the reduction of the natural resources at their disposal and the source of their existence. The impact of such negative factors can lead to their complete extinction. In this regard, it is necessary to adopt special legal acts providing for additional measures for their legal protection. The content and mechanisms of indigenous partnerships with the state and industrial enterprises should be worked out.
